8x10's
Yesterday on my weekly grocery shopping venture with my mom and daughter Bella we stopped by Concord Camera. I had ordered some 8x10's of pictures that I have created for my business. This was a dry run just to make sure that I had the quality to blow them up to that size. The verdict was a rousing success. I was so excited! I got that feeling in my belly, you know that one when you are anxious and excited about something all at once. It was just more motivation to keep working hard at my photography and getting my name and product out there. So I bought a couple of portfolio's, in 8x10 and 4x6 sizes. Immediately got home and slide the pictures in. Now I am ready to "showcase" them to prospective buyers. Once step closer!! Oh and all of the pictures that I picked up are currently on sale in my Etsy shop NOW! ;) Just click on JustATouchPhotos on the right hand side of the blog to be re-routed to the shop, ENJOY!!

In the market for a new camera!
So, I am currently selling my film SLR and just sold my digital point and shoot camera on eBay. I am in the market for a digital SLR, which I am hoping to get for Christmas.
Talk about overwhelming though. There are just too many options out there. What brand do you get? How many mega pixels? Do I need any extra lenses? and the questions just keep on coming.
Well as for the first question the answer is Canon. My film SLR and my first digital cameras were Canons and I LOVED them!! So the first decision was easy. I am getting a Canon dSLR because the lenses from my previous one can be used with the digital. As for megapixel I am thinking the 15 or 18 will be sufficient for me. I will easily be able to blow my pictures up to 16x20. Lenses are the next issue and with the type of photos I want to take I am going to need to buy a macro lens.
At least that is a start and I am armed with a little information of what I want and need. Now to go in search of the perfect camera for me and of course the perfect price. ;)

Just A Touch Photography
Here is a little about what I do. Actually it says it all right there in the name, "Just a Touch". I take my original photography, turn it black and white. Then add "just a touch" of color back into it to make the photograph POP.
Here are some examples:
I love black & white photography as well as color. So here I get to combine the two. Most of my pictures are of flowers because the brilliancy of the color in a flower added back in makes a huge impact. These pictures above are some of my favorite!

Starting a buisness
This is one of the most exciting and yet overwhelming experiences of my life so far, STARTING MY OWN BUSINESS. Who's to say that what I love will translate into something that others love? I guess the first step and the most important is that I am doing something that I love and hopefully with some hard work everything else will fall into place. So with out further ado I am jumping head long into this new venture. What is life about if it isn't about taking risks? This should be fun, or at the very least an eye opening challenge. Enjoy!
